Measure your hands first: How to customize your own HandTasker

Have you ever struggled with the unfit of the existing rehabilitation device in the hospital or struggled with hand dysfunction after a disease, such as a stroke, spinal cord injury, nerve injury, or sports injury? To get the best results from HandTasker, it's essential to measure your hands accurately. In this article, we'll show you how to do it step by step, so you can customize your own HandTasker and start enjoying its benefits.


Step 1: Watch our Tutorial Video We've created a tutorial video that explains how to measure your hands for HandTasker. You can find it on our website, social media channels, or YouTube. The video is easy to follow and only takes a few minutes to watch.


Step 2: Gather the Materials To measure your hands, you'll only need a marker and a piece of paper.


Step 3: Setup Place the paper on a flat surface and spread your hand down on the paper with your fingers as far apart as possible.


Step 4: Draw the Outline

Using the marker, slowly trace the shape of your hand and mark down the position of your finger joints beside the hand outline. The accuracy of the drawing will help us to better understand your hand size.


Step 5: Send us your Measurements Once you've measured your hands, you can send us your measurements via email or social media. We'll use your measurements to personalize your HandTasker and send it to you as soon as possible.


In addition to the measurements, please attach the following:

  1. Name

  2. First 4 Characters of HKID

  3. Period of Time after Stroke

  4. Gender

  5. Impaired Arm (Left/ Right)

  6. Time since Stroke

  7. Address

  8. HandTasker Strength (Level 1/ 2/ 3) *

* To identify the optimal HandTasker strength for you, the weakest level, 1, is suited for users who still can actively open and close their hands with less muscle tone. While the strongest level, 3, is suited for users with considerable hand stiffness and little to none voluntary force. With level 2 being the median of level 1 and 3.
