Hopebotics HandTasker brings hope to stroke elderly

On July 19, 2023, Hopebotics hosted a HandTasker workshop for Hong Kong Stroke Association at the Tsao Kam Tong Outdoor Recreation Center in Hong Kong. More than 60 stroke survivors participated in the workshop, where we provided HandTasker devices in different sizes and levels of joint stiffness for the participants to choose from. We also brought the latest group interactive task training version of the HandTasker for stroke survivors to train and have fun together.

During the workshop, we organized an interesting grip training competition, which received active participation from everyone. Many stroke survivors chose to take home a HandTasker device that fit them perfectly for self-training after the workshop. We will continue our collaboration with Hong Kong Stroke Association to promote customized rehabilitation exoskeletons for more people in need.

HandTasker is an innovative flexible exoskeleton designed for people with hand function disorders. It provides comfort and control for various manual tasks. We believe that through this workshop, stroke survivors can better understand and use HandTasker, thus improving their quality of life and rehabilitation outcomes.

Hong Kong Stroke Association was established in August 1997 as the first independent charity self-help organization dedicated to stroke survivors and their families in Hong Kong. It provides a platform for stroke survivors and their families to meet and discuss the challenges they face after a stroke, and to support each other throughout the rehabilitation process. The organization also organizes recreational activities for stroke survivors and frequently visits hospitals to provide encouragement and support to patients who have recently suffered a stroke. New Health Society has developed over the years, and its members are now located throughout Hong Kong, Kowloon, and the New Territories. It has six regional branches, each with its own meeting place and organizing committee, which plans and promotes activities for members in the region. The central committee also hosts activities for all members.
