PROF. RAYMOND TONG

Prof. Tong is the professor and chairman of Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He was the Ten Outstanding Young Persons in Hong Kong in 2013. His research group is also the pioneer of the development of rehabilitation robots in the world, including the renowned designs of

 

  •  "Hand of Hope“, a robot hand targeted for hand rehabilitation. It has been licensed to Rehab-Robotic Ltd. and received the grand prize in Geneva exhibition in 2012.

  • “KineLabs”, a software exercise platform for stroke patients and received the Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) from Brunei in 2012.

PROF. ZHENG LI
Co-Founder and Director
Scientific Advisor

Prof. Li is the associate professor of Department of Surgery in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is a senior member of IEEE. He has over 10+ years of experience in the design, modeling and control of medical robotics, including soft rehabilitation robots, flexible surgical robots, and miniature robots for GI tract inspection, thoracic surgery and neurosurgery. His research team has published over 100 research papers in top journals and leading conferences.

DR. YANNIE SOO
​Clinical Advisor

Dr. Yannie Soo graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at CUHK in 2000. She underwent her Neurology training at Prince of Wales Hospital and overseas training in stroke neuroimaging in Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston. She has significant impact in steering stroke service development in Hong Kong. In 2012, she pioneered off-site intravenous thrombolysis using telestroke with iPad in Hong Kong, which won the Asia Pacific HIMSS Healthcare award in 2013. The technology and stroke service model has greatly facilitated the development of 24-hour thrombolytic service for acute stroke in other hospitals across the territory.
